Lawsuit Alleges Mayoral Candidate Does Not Reside in San Diego

A lawsuit has been filed by Michelle VanDiver, claiming that San Diego Police Officer and mayoral candidate Larry Turner is not a full-time resident of San Diego. The lawsuit alleges that Turner lives in El Cajon and does not have a primary residence in San Diego, contrary to what his candidacy papers claim. Turner has criticized Mayor Todd Gloria on several issues, including handling San Diego's homelessness crisis and the Mayor's homeless tent sites and encampment sweeps. Turner is one of six candidates running to unseat Mayor Gloria, and the top two vote-getters in the March 5 Primary will move on to the November General Election. The court challenge aims to cast doubt on Turner and his qualifications for running for office.
